A Baseball Trip to Cleveland's Progressive Field
Posted on 10/24/2016 | About Cleveland, Ohio
He left Toronto early in the morning and drove to Cleveland, and then after the game, he drove all the way back, arriving home just after midnight.
On the stadium...
"The stadium is situated right down town. The immediate area around the stadium doesn't feel like the most safe neighbourhoods, but it's just a short cab ride away from the nicer ares of the city. They have some wonderful hotels in Cleveland. The stadium parking prices were unbelievable. Starting at $75 USD - I'll never complain about Rogers Centre parking again!! The stadium itself is quite beautiful. Nothing like watching them play under the sun, on real grass."
On the food...
"The food at the stadium was excellent! They had a very wide variety of high-quality options. We enjoyed authentic, coal-fired, Neapolitan-style pizza."
On the crowd...
"In past visits to Progressive Field, I always found the hometown fans to be friendly and welcoming, if a bit snarky. Many sarcastic comments, but nothing compared to the abuse you'll get from Yankees, Red Sox or even Miami Marlins fans when. Perhaps it was the pressure of the playoffs, but this time, they were outright nasty!"
Despite the heartbreaking loss and the not-too-friendly hometown crowd, Robert had a great time and glad he made the trip.
"I love travelling to watch the Blue Jays play. It's a great way to support the team and see these amazing, historic ballparks. I have planned and booked dozens of sports trips for my clients, and I would be happy to help anyone who is looking to travel, to watch their favourite team play!"
